On the edges, you'll be more able to stand to the opposite side to avoid it.ĭuring Phase 1, this fight will strictly be against one of the 5. The real danger of this attack is when the Waffle is closer to the center. Depending on the version of the fight (difficulty based), this could be all at once or in alternating waves of the orthogonal directions and diagonal directions. Additionally, the waffle will fire "explode" it's 8 side pieces in all directions. Waffle - The Waffle will have a pattern rise and fall from side to side of the arena. Try to time your jumps/passes with the platform on the level to give you some breathing room. It will be trailed by mini gumballs which makes this a little more annoying, but nothing too ridiculous. You'll want to build a circular pattern over and around it. It will home in strictly on you and try to hit you. Gobstopper - The gobstopper is the most basic of the bunch. I've taken numerous hits just from the icing splash while barely even being hit by the cupcake. Upon striking the ground, a small splash of icing will go off to the left and right of the impact location. This is actually quite easy to dodge for the most part. The cupcake will fly up into the air in a diagonal line before eventually bouncing against the wall and coming straight down. The cupcake has one attack to observe, but it's what happens after that is the problem. If he appears during Phase 1, it's pretty simple, but this can get tedious during Phases 2 and 3. I did still get caught occasionally with him switching then, but it works for the most part (one of the truly randoms parts of the fight).Ĭupcake - The cupcake is an annoying one to deal with. I found that staying towards the center of the screen and trying to move to the opposite end of him in the middle was the safest strategy. I never really worried about those, but they can be destroyed if they're giving you trouble. The mini-corn monsters will travel up off screen. He will be moving along the top or bottom and will either move switch before the reaching the end, or will switch at the end (he will always switch at the end). His movement pattern is always orthogonal directions (up, down, left, right) in either a figure 8 or 0. The gumballs will give openings to dodge that aren't too complex to deal with.Ĭandy Corn - Candy Corn has only 2 things to look at: his movement and his mini corns. Your best bet here is to stick to the left side of the screen. Every so often, the gumball machine will begin to throw gumballs in the sky. Gumball Machine - The gumball machine be in the middle of the screen and just run back and forth deviating a little from the center. This would be what you see during Phase 1 of the fight. Waffle (Why a Waffle in a Candy Theme?)īefore talking about the changes with each phase, I'm going to detail these 5 sub-boss patterns. There is no set pattern to them and each time through could be different. These can be randomly selected from a group of 5 enemies. The first 3 phases here for all modes will put you up against one of here minions.
